Project Target Groups

The target group includes the following:

  • People with Learning Disabilities
  • Deaf people
  • People who do not have the skills needed for work
  • People with specific learning difficulties (Dyslexia -"a condition that means that intelligent, or even really clever people, find it difficult to read or write for no obvious reason".)

The needs of these groups include skills for employment to include:

  • Basic Skills – reading, writing, number work and computer skills.
  • Personal Development Skills – self-esteem, confidence building and motivation; managing anger; managing stress; working with other people.
  • Key skills for life, learning and work
  • Skills that help you to get and keep a job, such as writing your CV, work experience, how to find the right job, travel training, knowing your rights at work etc.
  • People with learning disabilities need learning materials to suit each person’s needs. It works better for this group of people if they can learn a little at a time in a way that suits them best.
